Hey there!

Thank you for visiting! Take your time here and enjoy your stay.

Dirt (047)

Cleaning out Thelma, the camper, proved to be not as time consuming as I thought it would be. It did result in a sweaty Andrea. I have slept fairly well the last couple nights after spending a few hours each day cleaning her out. I was assigned to the inside while Mike and his mother pulled everything out of the basement--the pass through storage between the shell and the interior floorboards--to organize and discard unnecessary items.

Last fall, Mike and I had pulled everything out of Thelma's interior so that we could go through it all. We did that on Tuesday this week after procrastinating for several months. Mike's parents washed all of the retained kitchen items. Yesterday, I took bleach, buckets of water, and a sponge to the cabinet interiors and drawers. It took longer than I thought it would, and I managed to get about two-thirds of the storage areas cleaned. Today, I completed the process while Mike and his mother finished various tasks on the exterior.

It's amazing how much dirt and grime gathers in a recreational trailer. I scrubbed her so clean that I would consider the five second rule in her now. It took me at least half an hour on my hands and knees to get the dirt layer off the vinyl flooring.

Her maiden voyage with us starts tomorrow. Once at the campsite, we will continue to put away games and cleaning supplies, items that have been stored in a bin under the bench seats for now. The mattress and seat cushions are now back in her after having their covers washed. The first thing on our to do list is putting the clean curtains back on their rods. Then we can begin to accumulate new dirt.
