Goo (085)

It was Jenna Mourey who coined the phrase “goo hoarding” in one of her YouTube videos many years ago. She described her bathroom as full of half empty, half used beauty products. I am a self confessed goo hoarder when it comes to lip glosses and chapsticks. It’s an addiction at this point. If my lips are bare for too long, they feel like a desert to my brain. Despite Mike’s protesting, I have turned around a mile from my home to go back because I realized that I left without a lip product. I have purchased extra lip products while out in public because I realized I didn’t have one with me, or didn’t enjoy the one I did have.

Recently, I purchased several new lip products for traveling in fear of losing them one by one. I pack at least one into each separate bag when I’m traveling, including camping. When we went to Punta Cana, I brought a cache of roughly ten chapsticks and lip glosses. I didn’t lose any of them, so I now have a large supply at home.

I carry one in my pocket, at least one in my purse, and there is typically one to be found in each room of our home. Occasionally, they get washed with laundry because I forget to check pockets. Today, one of the best happy accidents happened. While at the dog park, I reached into my sweatpants pocket for the lip gloss that I slipped into it as we ran out the door, only to find it had two friends from the last time I wore them. It’s convenient that my obsession with goo often provides me with choices.
