Breath (092)

I sat down on the couch around 2pm to start up Breath of the Wild for the first time in probably ten months. It sucked me right back in, and the next thing I knew, Mike was getting ready to leave for hockey at 5:30. I decided not to go watch him, choosing Zelda instead. Twenty minutes later, he returned home at 8pm to a confused Andrea.

The clock didn’t lie though; I had emerged myself into Link’s world for over two hours without realizing it. I completed eight shrines today and made some major progress toward side missions that I had been putting off. Last time I played, I got ahead of my skill level in the game. Today, I went back to Kakariko Village and retraced some steps to make sure I didn’t miss any good opportunities for weapons and armor.

My eyes needed a break, so we both put down our games—Mike was playing NHL ’21—to watch SNL’s final episode of the season. I could hardly take a breath between crying and laughing from such a good episode. It sucks that we have to wait six months for the next season, and I hope not many cast members leave because this is one of my favorite casts in the history of the show. And yes, I watched in the 90s. For now, I’m going back to take a Breath of the Wild.
