Stargate (093)

I started watching the original Stargate movie and series Stargate SG-1 around 2007, after SG-1 was already off air. Eventually, I owned box sets for both SG-1 and Atlantis, once Stargate Atlantis was wrapped up as well. I have watched SG-1 in its entirety a few times, and I used to go back to watch specific favorite episodes, but have only watched Atlantis through once. When Stargate Universe premiered, I was super excited for it. It wasn’t the best series, but it was more Stargate storyline and kept me content. There was a web series called Stargate Origins, which followed Dr. Catherine Langford, the woman whose father discovered the Stargate in Giza, but I haven’t watched it yet. 

Mike had never seen the shows, so when I discovered that SG-1 was on Netflix, I introduced him. He quickly fell down the rabbit hole that is the Stargate world. We have been watching it for about eight weeks now, and have caught up to when Atlantis premiered. We are now switching back and forth as it originally aired on television. It’s amazing how much of the storylines I have forgotten since watching it the first time through. It’s like watching a lot of the episodes for the very first time. We are 13 episodes into season 8 of SG-1 and season 1 of Atlantis, so we still have quite a bit to get through. I’ll be bummed when we finish the series, but also I’m looking forward to sharing Origins together as a new experience.
