Hail (076)
We are camping again this weekend in Thelma at a local state park. It was weird only driving about twenty minutes after hitching up. We had to stop at the grocery store on the way because Mike packed the cooler and only had beer on his mind. Luckily, we weren’t on the hook for much food because our friends are making nearly every meal. They only asked us to bring snack stuff. I had to buy butter, queso, and salsa.
Mike maintains that all we needed was beer.
Between the grocery store and campground, we hit a red cell that quickly turned from huge rain drops to hail. Thelma started getting wiggly on the iced road and Mike had to slow way down. The side of the road reminded me of the first winter snow! The hail took off a bit of Thelma’s paint, and we found that the hard rain leaked through the front windows and behind the wood paneling. It was pooled up on the table when I opened the door. It makes me wonder what kind of water damage there is that we don’t yet know about.
